Dear Friends,
We are a team of 30 volunteers. This coming May, we are embarking on a mission to build and construct a water tank for a rural village in Ban Pak Lueng, Luang Prabang Province. It is a very poor village with 138 resident families. The school has no electricity and the villagers live off whatever their environment provides. All their houses are made of wood and built upon wooden stilts, just like the olden days of Singapore.
During dry season, the existing water tank will dry up and thus unable to provide clean water to the villagers. Therefore, we decided to build a bigger water tank to overcome the issue. At the same time, we will also be distributing grocery packs to all 138 families.
The expected cost worked out to be approximately S$9K for water tank and $S$7K for the grocery packs.
